Watch out for Chinese Propagandists pretending to be your friends...

While shopping in Trader Joe's, I ran into Helen who is from Russia and a sports team acquaintance. As I was chatting with her, I spotted, in a distance behind Helen, Cindy, a Chinese woman I met years ago. At the same time, in the back of my mind, I thought to myself: “however very interesting, I hope they don’t know each other…”
(Cindy and her current husband, Doug, were working hard years ago trying to convince me and a lawyer friend of mine that democracy is not suitable for Chinese. A big debate back then. However, the fact that Cindy and Doug spoke fluent English surprised me…)
Helen told me that she has been playing volley ball with many Chinese friends in a Chinese church in Palo Alto. Suddenly, the course of our little chat took a sharp turn. Helen started telling me one of her grandsons is dating a girl whose parents are from Taiwan. In her suddenly sharper tone of voice, Helen declared: I don’t know the difference between Taiwan and China, just like I don’t know that of Chechnya and Russia… I realized she said it to be heard… I then only asked her what religion she believes, she gave a dollar sign right before I said good bye to her.
I used to run into her from time to time, but I haven’t seen her in Trader Joe’s since then. Sometimes, I wondered aloud in my mind how much she got paid for doing such act. Or a bigger question is, did the Chinese pay her the afterward payment?

On the right side of this blog, I have posted a link to the report on human rights abuse by one of KMT's diplomatic envoy team.

This is just another reason for being disappointed with Taiwan's people: electing a political party that is a group of serious violators of Human Rights.

Shame to Taiwan (in this case and others)!

Trying to enroll my son for next school year using online registration, I had to select my country from a list of countries provided. For Taiwan, there was only one choice, "Taiwan, province of China". After writing to the school, they quickly apologize and correct it to just "Taiwan". In the end, I realized that they are also victims because they simply used ISO list as reference without checking anything. Only Taiwan's citizens would notice the degrading of our statehood.

So questions to Taiwan's taxpayers, what is your current KMT government doing about it? I do not see anything but spending taxpayers money on promoting 九二共識, which means One China.

A note from an European friend on the ISO and UN: they are the only ones that list Taiwan as province of China due to the political pressure from China. Many organizations would change their list of Taiwan to just Taiwan, after they are requested to do such correction.

I am posting on side bar Jean Wu’s well-written article about ECFA on Taipei Times. I am glad that she pointed out one of the broken election promises by KMT Ma, 6-3-3.

Ma’s rosy picture on the ECFA for Taiwan has exposed his willingness of naivety and/or his degrading of the Taiwanese intelligence. Especially when saying “ ECFA is merely economic and no political issues are involved “, he fails to comprehend and see the weight of economical issues on politics. Or he simply once again intended to mislead the people of Taiwan.

Naturally, most people would like to make as much money as possible. If some Taiwanese big businesses were to get rich because of ECFA favor from China while Taiwan is losing her sovereignty to China, all the Taiwanese people’s properties will be under the mercy of Chinese Communists. How much do Taiwanese gain by signing ECFA? Do we see the conspiracy here: under the disguise of getting rich with ECFA and easy access to Chinese market, KMT high officials are getting better payoff from China by selling out the future of Taiwanese and their children?

Taiwanese have been brainwashed since birth: don't get involved in politics. So those got into politics are mostly the clans or children of KMTs. Remember Diana Lee, the daughter of Lee Hwan? In the media, KMT teases that DPP has no talents. In fact, Taiwanese should simply counter Chinese KMT's propaganda and brainwashing: learn about politics, stay on top of the political situation and events, and get involved in politics whenever possible. Be the ones that are in charge, not the ones being tamed...
